Guitar One magazine has signalled two thumbs way up for a pair of unique Tacoma® instruments - one for the Thunderhawk baritone guitar and one for it's diminutive and high-pitched sibling, the Papoose.
They're specialty instruments that augment Tacoma's® line of standard guitars, both distinguished by the distinctive offset paisley soundhole that is a hallmark of the company's Wing series.
Guitar One's Michael Ross waxed enthusiastic on the "flannel warm" instruments. He liked the Thunderhawk's "full, rumbling low end" and "suprising degree of chordal clarity"; he also praised the A-tuned Papoose - the sonic equivalent of a standard guitar capoed at the fifth fret - for it's "mandolin-like chime" and for being "far from a toy or mere travel guitar."

Accoustic Rendezvous are the acoustic guitar duo of Rosco Clarke and Ralph Gannaway. Rosco and Ralph have been playing together for the last twenty years originally begining life as 'Strings Attached'. Since they released their self-titled cd in 2003 they have been known as Accoustic Rendezvous.
So Rosco, what have Accoustic Rendezvous been up to?
"We just played to a full house at the Cabana Bar in Napier on Sunday (July 27), it was so full they had to close the doors", from all corners of the house it sounded classy and sharp and roused a standing ovation. Accoustic Rendezvous have played all the premier venues in Hawkes Bay including the Church Road Winery Jazz Festival the last three years in a row. Another highlight was playing at the New Zealand Golf Open in Queenstown in 2007.
Why Tacoma®?
First and foremost , the playability of the neck. " I liked it the moment I picked it up" Rosco says, "The wider neck, tone and sound projection are the features that impressed me the most". "It's a class instrument" Rosco goes on to say, "most acoustic guitars have dead spots, but every note counts on a Tacoma®".
What's next for Accoustic Rendezvous?
"We are currently working on a two-disc cd with an anticipated release date sometime next summer. In between we will continue to play at selected local and national events".
Rosco uses the Tacoma® BM6CE Baritone and the Tacoma® Thunderchief, while Ralph uses the Tacoma® Papoose®. You can check out these classy acoustic guitars in the Tacoma® latest products section of this website.
