Metal Madness With Tainted

JACKSON NZ CATCHES UP WITH TAINTED

We have recently caught up with guitarist Tim Facoory from Christchurch

Jackson NZ : So Tim how has 2008 been for Tainted?

It's been a pretty full on year for Tainted, we spent a lot of time flying to back and forth from Christchurch to Auckland doing pre production and recording the album (Carved and Created) with Clint Murphy and York St Studios, as well as continuing to play shows all round NZ. Then we did our video with Richard Bell (Shuriken) for the song Departed, so it's been very chaotic in a lot of ways.  It does get quite frustrating when your putting all your time into one thing (like recording) as well as trying to organize shows and try to plan a release all at the same time.  That's why we were stoked when we aligned ourselves with Mark Kneebone (Isaac Promotions/Universal) halfway through the recording, it was one thing less for us to worry about.

I don't think people actually release how much time and effort goes into an album when it's done right, let alone trying to organize a good show.

Jackson NZ: What do you have planned next for Tainted?

Well pretty simple on the very short term; TOUR and promote CC (Carved and Created Album) in NZ as much as we can over the next six months then look at taking it overseas, you know we want world domination hahaha.

But yeah we want to look at some of the other markets in the world as well we want to do another video to support the album, but in the meantime we are going to thrash NZ the best we can.

Jackson NZ How is the metal scene in Christchurch?

I've said it for many years and I have yet to be put wrong, Christchurch has the best metal scene in NZ hands down.  People don't shy away fro supporting Chch metal shows, and nor do they cry about having to pay an entry fee, and once the bands start playing the punters get into the shows and generally have a great night, and it is consistent unlike other places in NZ which are hot and cold.

Jackson NZ What is it you love about Jackson?

The playability of the Jackson is just so unique, the fret boards are awesome and fit your hand just right, the bridge sits in the perfect place, the reliability is what has made my commitment to Jackson, I have never had a problem with inconsistent sound, or any other problems while playing shows, and that's what is extremely important to me.  It does help that Jackson have some damn cool designs like the Dinky and Kelly, Death Angel Arch Top, as well as some hard wearing paint jobs on them.

Jackson NZ: Is there any big gigs planned for Tainted in the coming months?

We have our Album release on October 19th at the Civic in Christchurch which we have managed to coincide with Parkway Drive, the billing is awesome and it will be the biggest split all ages/R18 metal event in the South Island for 2008 as well we managed to get call back to Southern Amp 08 this year, which we were thrilled Our Album Carved and Created is due for release on October 6th

this year the lineup has really out done itself, I mean we're playing alongside Testament, Seether, The Living End, The Dandy Warhols and more, and other than Testament (who are legends) we are the only other metal featuring. Now that's cool haha.

We are also set to do a NZ release tour in November in support of the release of our album hitting the main centers like Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Palmerston North, Tauranga.

Jackson NZ: What Jacksons do you own?

I  own three Jackson Guitars at the moment, one I've owned for 12 years now which is a Dinky DX10D (reverse headstock), my second which is a Dinky DK2FF (awesome flames on the fretboard) and a Kelly Pro KE3 which has the Graveyard paint job, very metal!!!! But the one I really want is the Death Angel Archtop

Our Album Carved and Created is due for release on October 6th
